This helps establish a good rythm for slowing breathing. I felt noticably relaxed at 8 seconds but easily went to 5 and wish it went to 3. Very simple and helpful. The guitar pluck is soothing and simple and makes it possibl to close my eyes and follow along.
for when youre rolling balls
This app is true to what it advertises. It relaxed me and help me calm down. The sound effects and the visual look are very well done and calming. Not many problems excempt that I was a little light headed at the end but hey, maybe that the whole point! :) I recommend this app!!!
Its almost cool, but it just does that same thing on repeat-- its nothing special. I could accomplish a higher relaxation level by taking a nap. Plus, its kind of creepy. The color wheel is lovely though.
A creepy, baritone voice mutters "Breath in... Breath out..." over two hard-plucked guitar notes, over and over. This is supposed to be relaxing??? It sounds like a horror movie soundtrack written by Philip Glass. It might be forgivable if it was even instructing you how to breathe correctly, which it isnt. Do yourself a favor: take a couple of yoga classes, learn the basics of pranayama breath control, and toss your gadget aside for a few moments each day. You do not need an app to breathe well-- and certainly not this one.
I gave this app a 4 out of 5 stars for 2 reasons. First, it is really basic. But that is part of the appeal. Second, I wish the iPad app was free also. I would love to have this app mobile with me. That is it. Its great. I am glad they have it for free. Down load it. Use it. Watch your heart rate lower and find the peace between breathes.
I love to use this right before bed because it helps to lull me to a more restfull sleep. This is excellent for people who are stressed or have major trouble getting to sleep.
this really helped relax me, but i dont think i would want to pay for it
Its simple, its effective, its about the right length of time.
This is a great App for an exercise in remembering to take deep inhales and exhales. It is a starting point. I have read some of the reviews and this is not about yoga or any other breathing and is a good first step to begin to take diaphramic breathes. Most people only inhale in a shallow way and never truly expel the air in their lungs. You have to be cautious at first, if you are not used to taking deep breathes. You will be light headed and a bit dizzy because your body is not used to receiving that much oxygen unless of course you already do yoga, or perhaps are professionally trained as a signer.
I used this after my workout and it really helped with the after-workout jitters. I would recommend it. ************* Second Review: Wow, never mind. After I wrote the review I stood up (slowly) and passed out. I eventually came to, got up (slowly, because hard to keep balance and focus) started to make my way down the hallway and passed out again. Now it was nice when I finished, but you have to lay there for a bit, maybe even take a nap. Not a good idea if you are about to be running all over the place. Also, do not use immediately after a workout. The combination really messes with your body.
This app is great for clearing the mind to relax or sleep. I particularily like it at bedtime or during a hectic period when my self talk gets too much to stay focused. As with anything, you have to find the right balance that works for your individual need.
a very helpful app for our extremely stressful life.
I am a chronic pain sufferer. In pain clinics that Ive attended, theyve used bio-feed back as a pain relieving tool. i hope this will work similar to that tech.
helps with breathing. it was hard before
